Exhibition of the Mediterranean diet

The Municipal Archaeology Museum exhibits until August 28 the expo 'The Cultural Heritage of the Mediterranean Diet'. The official opening of the exhibition will take place this Friday, June 17, at 18:00h, by Jorge Queiroz, who will speak of many curiosities about dining traditions.

The exhibition includes 19 panels in Portuguese and English, which tell the history of the Mediterranean Diet, composed of cultural landscapes and the environment, health and nutrition, the astral cycles, seasonal products, the application / registration, the cyclical festivities and the gastronomy. The exhibition also includes videos and provides access to interactive games and a flavor panel. In the area there will also be available printed information material in Portuguese, English and Spanish.

The "Mediterranean Diet" is promoted by seven states, including Portugal: Cyprus (Agros), Croatia (Hvar and Brac), Spain (Soria), Greece (Koroni), Italy (Cilento), Morocco (Chefchaouen) and Portugal (Tavira).

The exhibition will be officially be opened in the presence of Jorge Queiroz, director of the Department of Culture, Heritage and Tourism of the Municipality of Tavira and Technical Coordinator of transnational nomination of the Mediterranean diet the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity UNESCO.

The exhibition can be visited from Wednesday to Friday, from 9.30 to 17.30, and Saturdays, Sundays, Tuesdays and holidays from 9.30 to 12.30 and from 13.30 to 17.30 hours. The Municipal Archaeology Museum of Albufeira is closed on Monday. The exhibition is organized by Tavira Câmara under a set of actions set out in the Safeguard Plan approved by UNESCO
