The Algarve Platform Free of Oil (PALP) wants the prime minister, António Costa, to declare the expiration of contracts for oil prospecting off the coast Vincentian, 46.5 kilometers from Aljezur.
PALP sent a letter on Friday to the prime minister, with an knowledgement to the ministries of Economy and the Sea, asking that the socialist executive will not renegotiate further contracts for prospection in the area of the Council of Aljezur.
The current license will come to an end as per the First of February 2017.
According to PALP this is the right time and probably an exceptional possibility for the Government to resolve the situation.
