Festival of the sardines in Portimao

The event will be as usual in the riverside area, between the museum of Portimão and the area between bridges. Crafts, confectionery, street animation and various sounds, ranging from folklore to traditional Portuguese music.

The event that annually attracts thousands of visitors to the riverside area, rejoins the oldest and most traditional restaurants in this area of the city, like: À Ravessa, Casa Bica, Dona Barca, Forte and Feio, O Meco, Retiro do Peixe Assado, Ú Venâncio and Zizá will once again display at the entrances of their establishments the badge "Aqui há Sardinha!", an identification that ensures their participation in the Sardine Festival and guarantees to the visitors the quality and that, in these establishments, they will be able to taste the best Sardine Assada of the city, accompanied with the baked potato and the traditional Algarvian salad. There are more than two thousand seats, spread over eight restaurants.

It should be noted that each of these establishments has contributed a symbolic amount that has been totally channeled into the contracting of local artists and cultural associations that will ensure the liveliness of the street and the axis of the participating restaurants, in a joint effort to integrate, involve and energize all of the riverside area of the city.

The musical enterteinment starts on August 2 with Aurea, who will present his new album "Restart", and continues with the local artist Reflect (day 3), the musical group Atoa (day 4), the fado singer Cuca Rosetta, who presents the last album of originals "Riu" (day 5) and ends with the show of the composer, producer and singer João Só (Day 6).
