Pollen will be very high in the coming days in all regions of mainland Portugal, according to the Allergology Clinic (SPAIC).
Between today and Friday, pollen levels will be high in several regions of the continent, according to the SPAIC, which releases a Pollen Bulletin every week during spring, the season for allergies, which begins today.
According to SPAIC, the predominant pollen in mainland Portugal will be pine, plantain, cypress and oak trees, as well as nettle and parietal herbs.
In Lisbon (Lisbon and Setubal region), pollens are found at very high levels, with pollen in the banana, pine, cypress and oak trees and nettle and parietal herbs predominating. In Porto (Entre Douro and Minho region), pollens are found at high levels, with predominance of pollens of cypress and pine trees and nettle grass. The SPAIC also states that in Funchal (Autonomous Region of Madeira), pollens are at low levels, with emphasis on cypress and parietal grass pollen. In Ponta Delgada (Autonomous Region of the Azores), pollens are at moderate levels, with predominance of pollens of pine, plantain and cypress trees and nettle grass.
