The Portuguese are thinking of going in bulk to the Algarve to enjoy their summer vacation, as revealed by a study by Trivago.
The list of most popular destinations among national tourists is dominated by the Algarve, with Albufeira on top, followed by Monte Gordo, Portimão, Vilamoura and Alvor.
In the top ten, there is still room for two more Algarve localities, Quarteira and Lagos, which occupy the 9th and 10th place, respectively.
The study also revealed that the Portuguese are willing to pay, on average, 137 euros per night during their vacations.
'As regards to the length of stay, the Portuguese opt, on average, for holidays of 7 days - one day less than last year. Ponta Delgada is the destination, from the top 10, where the Portuguese spend less time (5 nights) and Vilamoura the place where they choose to stay more nights (altogether 8),' concluded the study by the trivago.
